James Cameron 执导 2022 年度科幻大片《阿凡达：水之道 Avatar: The Way of Water》上周正式登陆 Disney+，而本周 Disney 却无预警宣布《阿凡达 Avatar》第 3、4、5 集全部将延期上映。
《Avatar 3》从 2024 年 12 月 20 日延期至 2025 年 12 月 19 日、《Avatar 4》延期至 2029 年 12 月 21 日上映，而《Avatar 5》则必须等到 2031 年 12 月 19 日，距离首集上映已有 22 年之久。
制作人 Jon Landau 于 Twitter 发文表示：「每一部《Avatar》电影都让人感到兴奋，但也都是如史诗般的大工程，我们需要更多时间才能达到我们电影制作人所追求还有观众们所期待的品质标准，团队们正在努力，迫不急待地想在 2025 年 12 月带领观众回到 Pandora。」
